CEF Night with the Generals!

#cefjacksontn – The Jackson Generals were winners last night and we were too! We had an awesome time last night at the Jackson Generals ball park. The crowd was not the biggest, but it was a lovely night. The weather was nice and we were setup in the main entrance area (lower concourse) to meet and greet the public. Some of our committee folks came out to help man the CEF information table and a few of our church partners dropped by to say hello as well.

In order to encourage people to come to our information table, we offered a “give-a-way” item that was provided by an anonymous donor. We gave away a nice YETI Tundra 45 cooler. We explained to everyone that our purpose was to build up our database for mailing out quarterly newsletters and monthly email updates. I believe we had about 100 people sign-up. We gave away custom silicone wristbands with our Chapter name, our vision, and a verse of scripture tucked away underneath. We also gave out brochures and shook lots of hands!

I was blessed to have a wonderful conversation with two ladies from the Paris area who had previous experience with CEF. One of them actually hosted Good News Clubs in her neighborhood… in Washington state! She is now in Paris, TN and told me she would try and get her church staff to connect with me. We both agreed that this was God’s providence, allowing us to meet in this fashion.  We had other good conversations, but this one kind of stood out. Below are a few photos from the event.

I want to publicly thank the Jackson Generals minor league baseball team and their representative, Mr. Robert Perry for their generosity. They graciously featured us on the big screen by playing one of our new promotional videos, “CEF Around the World.” They also made a few PSAs to encourage people to visit our information table to learn about volunteer opportunities. Thanks to our friend Matthew for throwing out the first pitch! You did great!
